Dog training classes can be a good option for some. While many people find it convenient to send their dogs off to get trained, some find it as being a failure on themselves, like having to send their beloved child off to boot-camp! All in all dog training classes have beneficial effects on the dog itself and their owner. Plus factors include the dog learning how to be civilized in all situations. When a dog has good behavior around humans and other dogs, it does not go unnoticed!

A common mistake that dog owners have is paying too much for too many classes. Let’s say you wanted to get your dogs taught the basics. Meaning you want your pet to be able to come when you say or to sit when you command. These two and a couple of more will be main focuses in dog training schools. Now, would it be necessary to get your dog trained to hold a biscuit on top of his nose while standing on one leg? Absolutely not, so don’t waste money on unnecessary ventures.

If you plan on entering your dog into some sort of dog show, then taking the advanced training route would be more appropriate. Many dog shows require them to have a nice body posture, on point commanding and to know how to do other little fancy things. So you can see the difference in needing a basic training for your dog or advanced.

If you happen to come across a school for your dog that seems a little steep for what you signed up for, then start asking questions. It’s possible that they can be charging you for a whole package when all you need is some basic things to be taught to your dog. You will see that most will begin to seed out what you’re seeking and your price will drop dramatically. While dog training classes are great I still recommend the old fashioned e-book and applying techniques myself!

Whenever owning a dog he or she needs not to be a nuissance. Owning a dog that has not been through any kind of dog behavior training can be harmful to you, your friends and family. You want a companion and not a dog that is giving you problems.

Owning a dog should be a great deal of fun and that’s why they should be trained instead of being let “wild”. There is plenty of material on the web that allows a novice to train their own dog! May it be having to buy an e-book or get an expert trainer, it is well worth seeing your dog at it’s best. You can see or hear of new professional dog training guides or techniques launched just about every week.

It is important not to buy into every single piece of hype you hear though. I want to share my thoughts on what is good advice for dog behavior training.

A first priority to understand is being a pack leader. The dog whisperer Cesar Milan talks a great deal on this and it’s actually a vital part of dog training. If you’ve ever seen in the wild how wolves have a leader or shall we say “boss”, that’s how you need to be to your dog. Being familiar with dog psychology as a dog owner, you will quickly come in part with this.

Another great tip is being firm with your dog friend. Now, I don’t mean pulling a punch or smack, but I just mean the tone in your voice. Just the same as parents command their kids in a certain tone of voice to do something “now”, that’s the same concept when being in control of your dog. There should be no instances where your dog does something that is bad and your tone of voice is light and mushy.

Aside from keeping the commanding voice, be sure to give praise to your friend when he or she does what is told. A popular praising technique is giving them treats after they have done what is right or commanded. Some people use the clicker training which is also good. I just use the treat technique as this has worked plenty enough charms for me and my dogs. I also,on second hand, praise my dogs verbally. It could simply be a “good boy” or ” nice doggy” with a nice gentle rub on the head. I don’t stop rubbing their head until their ears are relaxed and their tongues or out. This shows that the dog is comfortable and knows that he just done something good!

These are just a few things that I use in my dog behavior training. Keep in mind that it’s not what I do or what rich and famous dog guru John does, but more of what works for you and your dog. The most important resort in the training of your dog begins with you. Whenever learning material from an online e-book or from a trainer, be sure to soak the information in properly and correctly. It can take one bad move to ruin a whole session of dog training!

There are many of us that rely on the basic “come here” or “sit down” comands for our dog. In some cases this is an okay approach to dog training, but when aiming to get the best out of your dog, consider getting a professional dog trainer.

Imagine trying to keep an untrained dog in the house with your brand new carpet. This is like wearing a white shirt and drinking red kool-aid while driving on a bumpy terrain, it just doesn’t mix. Many people turn to hiring a professional dog trainer when making that great decision of keeping their dog in the house. You don’t necessarily have to hire a live person to train your dog, but check out great dog potty training books from professionals as well. I have had great success with a few e-books that I’ve ordered online when it came to housetraining my dog.

Another time to consider getting a dog training professional is when your dog is too aggressive. I have experienced in the past with dogs who just didn’t have any respect for my friends or family. This is something that you just don’t want to have to deal with. Anytime you’re going to be having a dog loose to roam the house or your yard, it has to be human savvy. Now, I’m not saying to have some dog that’s a punk, but more of having a dog that knows the right time to bark and to approach with aggressiveness. In this particular part of dog training there are great professional dog training e-books available as well.

Apart from getting extra assistance with potty training or aggressive dogs, it is also wise to get a professional dog trainer when teaching a dog to walk on a leash properly. In the past, I have also dealt with dogs whom either was walking too fast on the leash or too slow. When it comes to walking a dog, his or her speed should be equivalent to the person walking it. If your dog is pacing too far ahead or lagging behind on the leash, then this is a sign of him or her needing walking lessons. This is another important case to getting a dog trainer as you will be much more happier when having to take ol pal on an evening walk!

In conclusion, there are many scenarios when you might have to consider getting a professional dog trainer. I have only listed a few out of thousands that one might consider when dealing with certain aspects of unpleasant behavior with their dog. Remember that there are plenty of e-books and dog trainers availbale for great prices all over!
